Online DOCX Viewer & Editor

Open .docx files with live Word-style formatting, make quick edits in your browser, and export to DOCX, PDF, or HTML. Everything runs client-side for speed and privacy — your files never leave your device.

Why use this tool?

  • High-fidelity preview — See pages, headings, and layout rendered close to Word.
  • Edit Mode — Convert to clean HTML for quick fixes (text, lists, headings, inline images).
  • One-click export — Save changes as DOCX, PDF (edited or exact preview), or HTML.
  • Private by design — 100% client-side; no server upload.
  • Fast & lightweight — Works in modern browsers on desktop/laptop.

How it works

  1. Open a DOCX: Drag & drop your file or click Select Files.
  2. Preview: The left panel renders a high-fidelity view of your document.
  3. Edit: Click Edit Mode to convert the file to HTML and make changes.
  4. Export:
    • DOCX — Saves your edited HTML back to a .docx file.
    • PDF (Edited) — Exports what you see in the editor as selectable text.
    • PDF (Exact Preview) — Exports the visual preview page-by-page (WYSIWYG).
    • HTML — Downloads the edited HTML with basic styling.

What’s supported

  • Text formatting (headings, paragraphs, bold, italic, underline)
  • Lists (bulleted & numbered)
  • Inline images (insert, resize via handles in your browser)
  • Basic tables (rendered; complex table formatting may simplify in Edit Mode)

Tips

  • Need exact visual PDF? Turn Edit Mode off and export PDF from the left-side Preview.
  • Need a lightweight, editable PDF? Keep Edit Mode on and export PDF (Edited) to get selectable text.
  • Privacy: Everything happens locally in your browser — ideal for sensitive documents.

Troubleshooting

  • Blank preview? Re-render, or ensure your browser allows scripts if using an embedded iframe.
  • Layout differences in Edit Mode: Edit Mode favors clean HTML over complex Word layouts. Use the Preview PDF export for exact appearance.
  • Fonts look different: PDF uses web-safe fonts unless embedded via your browser; appearance can vary across devices.
